My name is Arlyn Bradshaw, and I hope to be your next County Council Member. For the past three years, I have served as the advisor to Council Chair Joe Hatch. This makes me uniquely qualified to be effective on day one. As an active Democrat in Salt Lake County for more than a decade, I have served as Executive Director of the state party and as an executive board member of the county party. In addition to grass roots political experience, I have also served as a staffer to Utah House Democratic Whip Patrice Arent and as a Congressional Aide in Washington, DC.
These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of our county government and how it interacts with local, state, and federal entities. As a council member, I will work tirelessly to retain a Democratic majority on the council and continue to move the county forward with innovative solutions. I will champion policies that:
- Promote economic and social justice to help improve the quality of life for all residents.
- Continue to ensure a fiscally and socially responsible budget.
- Secure excellence and effectiveness in the county services that residents rely upon every day.
- Preserve green spaces and other environmental resources while encouraging responsible commercial and residential development.
- Improve the quality of air in our valley and region.
